Kim Soo-hyun's Side Says False Claims Were Spread Using Fabricated Evidence, 'Criminal Liability Will Be Hard to Avoid' - 매일경제

The side of actor Kim Soo-hyun has once again taken a hard line over the controversy surrounding the spread of false allegations related to the late Kim Sae-ron.

Ko Sang-rok, Kim Soo-hyun's legal representative, said on the 21st via his social networking service (SNS) that he had reviewed the recently disclosed arrest warrant request for Kim Se-ui, the head of Garo Sero Research Institute. He said he paid particular attention to the phrase 'suspect Ji-seok Boo' written in the document.

Ko explained that the phrase suggests investigators may have turned a person who had been a witness into a suspect while examining the possibility that Ji-seok Boo, the legal representative for the bereaved family of the late Kim Sae-ron, conspired in the case.

He also claimed that it is highly unusual for a defense lawyer to become a suspect in the course of an investigation on conspiracy charges.

He also referred to a press conference held last year by Kim Se-ui and Ji-seok Boo. Regarding the KakaoTalk messages released at the time, he pointed out that they were not actual messages from actor Kim Soo-hyun, yet were presented as if they were his conversations.

He added, 'People usually think a lawyer would not lie about false facts,' and claimed that some of those claims spread as if they were true.
