KY recovery center to pay $300K to resolve reported False Claims Act violations - Fox 56 News

LEXINGTON, Ky. (FOX 56) — A Louisville drug and alcohol recovery center has agreed to a settlement after being accused of submitting false claims to the federal government.

According to the settlement agreement, Recovery Services, LLC, billed Kentucky Medicaid for urine drug screens for patients who had not received individual medical assessments. The U.S. also alleged that Recovery Services billed Medicaid for urine drug screens for residential patients despite only being allowed to provide outpatient services.

Kentucky Medicaid does not pay for any services performed by outpatient providers or non-individualized medical assessments.

Anyone with information about improper billing, drug testing, or any other potential fraud or misuse of federal medical funds is urged to call the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services at 800-HHS-TIPS (800-447-8477).
