The US Department of Labor recovered $134,532 in wages for 45 workers and assessed $122,610 in civil penalties after investigations into 11 Mississippi Delta agricultural employers over allegations of wage theft and illegal displacement of US workers.
Investigations by the labor agency’s Wage and Hour division found that the employers violated H-2A program requirements by allegedly not paying the required rate for US workers in corresponding employment, the DOL said Monday.
