Larson, Neal Blast Another Damning Whistleblower Allegation Against ‘DOGE’ and Social Security - Congressman John Larson (.gov)

Washington, D.C.—Today, Social Security Subcommittee Ranking Member John B. Larson (CT-01) and Ways and Means Committee Ranking Member Richard E. Neal (MA-01) released the following statement after the Washington Postreported that another whistleblower has accused a former 'DOGE' employee of illegally copying two Social Security databases onto an unsecured thumb drive for personal gain:

“These continued revelations demand a full investigation with accountability if wrongdoing is confirmed. This is criminal, and the result of a year of lawlessness and mismanaging the people’s data that Republicans have insisted wasn’t happening.

“It wasn’t long ago that Commissioner Bisignano sat across from us and insisted there was nothing nefarious happening with Americans’ data at Social Security. Just last week, he dodged questions in front of the entire Committee, rightfully receiving bipartisan blowback for his lack of transparency. It’s clear that either he’s been asleep at the switch, or he’s deliberately misled members of Congress and the public—neither is acceptable. He must return to Ways and Means and tell Congress the full truth about what’s unfolding under his watch.
