A grieving mother who lost her 16-year-old son in a workplace accident says she has been targeted by child trolls who are spreading false accusations about her dead son and making vile threats towards her.
Laura McMullin's labourer son Jayden Fuller died on October 12 when he was struck by a roller while working on a driveway at Alberton on the Gold Coast.
Following her son's death, Ms McMullin told Daily Mail Australia she has been mercilessly targeted online with physical and sexual threats against her and her daughter.
The direct personal attacks include threats to rape both her and daughter Emily -Jayden's twin - threats to 'jump on' Ms McMullin's head after she dared to speak out about the threats and posts about urinating on her son's grave.
'Cyberbullying is a real thing, the pain is crippling,' the grief-stricken mother told Daily Mail Australia.
'There seems to be no fear at all from these children, even knowing I have spoken out it continues.'
Ms McMullin said there have been rumours circulated online about his cause of death including claims that it was by suicide or even that he faked it.
The irate mother said the juveniles making these claims are getting praised for making up the stories online.
While she grapples with the loss of her son, Ms McMullin said the community must work together to speak to their children about how unacceptable this online behaviour is.
