Lee presses real estate reform, calls for whistleblower rewards and balanced development - CHOSUNBIZ - Chosunbiz

President Lee Jae-myung on the 31st posted three items on his social media (SNS) X (formerly Twitter) account, mentioning real estate stabilization a whistleblower reward system development near Jongmyo.

Introducing an article titled "Have homeowners raised the white flag? Seoul apartment prices slam on the brakes" on his X account that day, the president wrote, "Does 'ruinous real estate' seem impossible to normalize? If you trust the people without calculating votes and accept the criticism, it will be done." The article said that after the government mentioned the possibility of reviewing a real estate tax overhaul, Seoul apartment prices fell slightly.

The president also wrote, "Illegal valley normalization = valley maintenance, complete" and "Normalization of a stock market rampant with legal denial = 5,000 points, opening," adding, "Normalizing real estate is much easier and more important than 5,000 points and valley maintenance." He continued, "I hope you seize the opportunity while you can. You will soon realize this was the last chance." Citing his past campaign to clear illegal facilities in valleys and streams when he was Gyeonggi governor and the recent activation of the stock market, observers see this as a warning aimed at some speculative multi-homeowners.
