Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas recognized several area attorneys this week for their pro bono work with Legal Aid clients.
The week of Oct. 24 through Oct. 28 is recognized as National Pro Bono Week, which makes it an optimal time for LANWT to recognize partners that make its services possible.
“The celebration is an opportunity to connect pro bono providers and attorneys across the nation and to showcase the incredible difference that pro bono lawyers make to our nation’s system of justice,” noted Sylvia Chavez, equal justice volunteer coordinator for Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas.
Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas is a nonprofit that provides free civil legal help to low-income residents across the north and west areas of Texas, according to the LANWT website.
LANWT representatives stopped by the office of each attorney to present them with certificates and words of thanks for their services.
Honorees include Alesha Walker with Walker Law; Don Snodgrass with Laney & Bollinger, L.P.; Paul Holloway with Law Office of Paul Holloway; Jeff Actkinson with Aldridge, Actkinson & Rutter, LLP; Anna Ricker with Ricker Law Firm P.C.; and Isaias Solorzano of Solorzano Law Group, PLLC.
Ricker, Snodgrass and Holloway were also presented with Texas flags flown over the state capitol. The flags were donated for the cause by Senator Charles Perry and the Texas Senate.
