After reading the front page article “DEC fires worker for insubordination over Goodyear rift” by Mackenzie Shuman, I was disgusted. The fact that a conscientious engineer who worked at the DEC for decades had lost his job because he acted in good faith to try to get Goodyear to do accurate baseline testing for a known bladder carcinogen (ortho-toluidine) cannot be ignored.
