What happened to the idea that people running for public office should lead in good citizenship, honor and taking the high road? The Republican Party of Iowa delivered an outlandish, unfounded and false series of claims against Iowa House candidate Randy Meier to our mailbox this week along with (of course) an unflattering photo. This mailing obviously supports Tom Determann's candidacy by asking you to believe that Randy Meier has unpopular positions on hot button culture war issues.
It's time for us to unite and endorse conduct that will bring honor to our state along with common sense and good judgment. Throughout his law enforcement career, volunteer work and election efforts Randy Meier has consistently demonstrated that he will work for all of us and incorporate good citizenship, good manners and honorable conduct in that work. Oh, and by the way, there's no evidence that Randy has ever supported the issues articulated in that mailing.
