List of Former Trump Aides Indicted as Cassidy Hutchinson Faces DOJ Probe - Newsweek

Former Trump White House aide Cassidy Hutchinson is facing a potential criminal indictment after the Department of Justice (DOJ) sought charges alleging that she lied to Congress in her testimony about the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, according to a new report from Punchbowl News.

The development places Hutchinson among a growing list of current and former Trump associates who have faced criminal charges or indictments in recent years, many in connection with efforts to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

If prosecutors ultimately secure an indictment, Hutchinson will join several high-profile Trump advisers, lawyers and aides entangled in criminal investigations stemming from election challenges, January 6-related probes, and other federal and state cases.

Punchbowl reported Thursday that the DOJ is seeking a federal criminal indictment of Hutchinson on allegations that she lied to Congress during her testimony about January 6. The outlet reported that prosecutors recently presented evidence to a federal grand jury and are expected to call additional witnesses later this month. According to Punchbowl, Hutchinson has not been subpoenaed to appear before the grand jury.

Newsweek has reached out to the DOJ and Hutchinson's attorney for comment.
