Livengood: Whitmer takes both sides in no-fault battle for medical care - Detroit News

The unsettled battle in Michigan's highest court over the fate of the 2019 auto insurance reform law rests on one overarching question: Are injured drivers who paid into a system designed to ensure their long-term care entitled to that same level of care?

It is the core issue before the Michigan Supreme Court. For now, the high court has temporarily ruled a 45% cut in payments to medical providers that care for badly injured motorists can no longer be applied by auto insurers while the justices consider the issue.
