Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP is pleased to announce that partners Emily Burkhardt Vicente, Ann Marie Mortimer and Jane Hinton were recognized by the Los Angeles Business Journal at their 2023 Women’s Leadership Symposium and Awards. The award ceremony was hosted on June 28, where Vicente was honored as a finalist for Mentor of the Year, Mortimer as an Executive of the Year nominee and Hinton as a Champion for Women nominee.

Co-chair of the firm’s labor and employment team, Vicente is an accomplished trial lawyer who has defended some of the largest Fortune 100 companies in high-stakes employment and wage-hour litigation and is experienced in taking hybrid class and collective action cases to jury trial. She has helped a number of clients navigate sexual harassment claims fraught with legal and public relations challenges in the #metoo era. In her counseling practice, Vicente assists companies in developing forward-thinking compliance strategies that reduce disputes and mitigate employment-related risks. In the last several years, she has creatively advised a variety of businesses through workforce issues attendant to closing, reopening and operating a business during the unprecedented challenges created by COVID-19. Vicente also works with companies nationwide on the design and implementation of diversity and inclusion programs and other ESG initiatives.
