Love Island viewers appear to have caught out a contestant making false claims about his romantic past after doing some social media detective work.
The new series of the ITV2 dating show launched on Monday, with new host Maya Jama presenting the winter season from South Africa.
One of the starting line-up of male contestants was 21-year-old TV salesman from Doncaster Haris Namani, who made lots of references to never having been in love or taken a girlfriend home to meet his parents.
However, his ex, model Courtney Hodgson, appeared to disagree as she had posted a number of videos on TikTok of her and Namani looking very much like a confirmed couple.
The show's viewers began sharing the videos and photos, along with suggestions that he had dumped her in order to go on the show.
One person tweeted the video and wrote: "nahhh not Haris saying he’s never had a relationship + never brought a girl back to his"
A series of coupled-up photos and videos of the pair on Hodgson's TikTok came with the caption: "Chilling around eachothers houses, going on walks, eating together, sleeping together, sounds boring but it's so wonderful."
One viewer tweeted: "Can Harris please stop openly disrespecting his ex by saying he’s never had a relationship, there’s videos of them on holidays all over tik tok. What a slime."
