LYNCHBURG, Va. (WSET) — On August 11, Lieutenant Governor candidate John Reid spoke to the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance about what he believes he can bring to the Commonwealth.
Reid says that he will ensure that Virginia will make decisions that benefit the workforce rather than take jobs away.
Reid told the LRBA that when it comes to the economic state of Virginia, he cares. He said that he would put his best foot forward to make sure that Virginia continues to grow economically.
He stressed the importance of the Right to Work law, saying that without it, businesses in the Commonwealth will suffer. He also spoke about the importance of quality state education and childcare for working people.
"I take every Virginian's employment and prosperity seriously. I do think we have the ability to continue to recruit businesses as long as we stay a 'Right to Work' state. And I think if you have me as Lieutenant Governor, and I'm out advocating for the Commonwealth with business leaders across the country, we will continue to see a pipeline of new jobs coming in," Reid said.
Reid said that he is excited about the chance to work alongside the Republicans in the Commonwealth who have taken steps to ensure that jobs are being created in Lynchburg.
Reid hopes that when November comes around that the business community will trust his leadership.
The general election will take place on Nov. 4.
