MACC arrests another company owner in Selangor for submitting false claim - New Straits Times

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) arrested another 45-year-old company owner in Selangor on suspicion of having submitted a false claim online to the Social Security Organisation (Perkeso) to obtain employment incentives under the Penjana programme.

A source revealed that the suspect was arrested at the Selangor MACC office about 1pm when he arrived to give his statement today.

He was suspected of committing the offence involving false claims which he submitted amounting to about RM370,000 between 2020 and 2021.

Selangor MACC Director Datuk Alias Salim, when contacted, confirmed the arrest.

He said the case was being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.

Alias said the suspect would be taken to the Shah Alam magistrate's court tomorrow at 9am for a remand application.

On Tuesday, the graft busters detained three individuals from two different companies on suspicion of submitting employee verification forms online that contained false details involving a claim amounting to RM1 million to Perkeso under the same programme.
