MACC denies not issuing notice to businessman sought in false claims case - New Straits Times
KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has denied that it did not issue a notice to businessman Datuk Justin Lim Hwa Tat asking him to come forward to assist in a false claims investigation.
MACC said it had conducted its due diligence to track down Lim, who is Sersol Bhd chief executive officer, and even going as far as Johor, before disseminating an official notice via the media on July 12.
"We went to two of his residences in Kuala Lumpur on June 26 to serve the notice. However, it was found that one of the premises had been sold while the other was no longer occupied by Lim.
"On the same date, we went to his office in Kuala Lumpur as well as Johor but Lim was not at both locations.

"Our checks with the Immigration Department showed that Lim had left the country last February and there was no record of him re-entering.
"Therefore, we issued a media statement on July 12 this year, complete with the telephone number and the e-mail address of the investigating officer to locate Lim.
"The statement is the official notice and it is authentic," MACC said in a statement today.
