MACC nabs two over false claims - New Straits Times

KOTA BARU: The Kelantan Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) detained an official and a former official of the state Malaysian Quarantine and Inspection Services Department (Maqis) to assist investigations into a case of false claims amounting to thousands of ringgit.

Sources said the two were detained separately last night and on Tuesday night.

"The two, aged 44 and 55, were nabbed at the state MACC office in Lundang.

"They were detained to assist a probe into the false claims case which took place between January and March this year.

"The false claims were purportedly for the supply of animal feed to Maqis," said one of the sources.

The sources also said the state MACC was expected to make more arrests in connection with the case.

Kelantan MACC director Rosli Husain confirmed the arrests but refused to comment further.

The two were remanded at the Kota Baru magistrate's court today.
