Maddur: CM hits out at BJP for false claims on State’s finances - The Hindu

Projects worth 1,146 crore launched in a single day in Maddur Assembly constituency, let BJP come with details on what it did for Maddur when it was in power for four years, Siddaramaiah.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Monday accused the BJP of falsely claiming there was no money in the Congress government for development works, but projects worth 1,146 crore were launched in Maddur in a single day. It our government’s challenge to BJP, he said.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for new projects and inaugurating various development works in Maddur Assembly constituency in Mandya district and distributing welfare benefits to beneficiaries, Mr. Siddaramaiah asked the BJP to come out with details on what it did for Maddur when it was in power for four years. “The Cauvery Neeravari Nigama Limited has alone taken up works worth 560 crore in the past two years,” he added.

Mr. Siddaramaiah said his government cleared the long-pending electricity dues of Mandya Sugar Factory (MySugar) and also granted 52 crore for its revival. Another 10 crore has been released to the sugar factory.

The Chief Minister said his government has established the University of Agricultural Sciences in Mandya, granting necessary funds. “All these works reflect the commitment of the government and the Congress party for the development of Mandya district.”
