A Married At First Sight groom has launched legal action against a media outlet over 'hurtful' claims he is an 'abusive and aggressive person' who put his wife at risk while filming the Channel Nine dating show.

Daily Mail Australia can reveal Harrison Boon, 32, has engaged lawyers to order cease and desist letters and explore defamation lawsuits against So Dramatic Media Pty Ltd after the outlet's podcast and website made sensational claims against the Sydney-based builder on a podcast.

On March 15, the podcast aired shocking claims Boon was 'allegedly manipulative' and put his wife Bronte Schofield's safety at risk while filming MAFS last year.

Boon says the serious allegations are not only patently false, but also maliciously defamatory.

Boon's legal team says their client is entitled to substantial monetary damages and vindication, as well as costs for the damage these false claims has done to his reputation.
