The Maltese Official Gazette Jan. 10 published Legal Notice No. 4/2023, amending rules for the deduction of income from employment, effective from the 2024 assessment year. The legal notice includes measures: 1) increasing the employment income deduction to 10,500 euros (US$11,273) from 9,100 euros (US$9,772); and 2) increasing the income ceiling to 10,535 euros (US$11,308) from 10,020 euros (US$10,758), to qualify for the deduction.
