By Breaking Belize News Staff: A St. Anne’s villager arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s court this week, claims that the charge against him is a malicious act by the mother of one of his children.
Thirty-one-year-old Rasheed Woods appeared unrepresented in court on Wednesday, charged with a single count of aggravated assault with a firearm, to which he pleaded not guilty.
Woods said that the mother of his 18-month-old daughter, who is estranged, promised to ruin his life and take away his chicken business in which he has made investments. As the offense was committed with a firearm, he could not obtain bail at the Magistrate level and was remanded to the Belize Central Prison until February 7, 2023.
Woods can still apply for bail via the Supreme Court through the assistance of an attorney, which he says he intends to do as he promised one of his daughters he would spend Christmas with her in Cayo.
