A man has been sentenced to nearly a year in jail for an assault on an employee at the West Olive One Stop, a gas station and convenience store at U.S. 31 and Croswell Street.

Taylor Jackson “punched, knocked down and choked” a woman working at the store on Feb. 20, said Ottawa County Circuit Judge Karen Miedema in court Monday.
