A ‘manipulative’ woman who had her innocent prison officer ex-lover arrested three times over false allegations has been jailed for more than two years.
‘Obsessive’ Emma Weller set up fake dating accounts and even falsified claims that her ex, Paul Miller, had threatened to rape her.
After learning he had been released on bail she also claimed she’d been sexually assaulted by a masked assailant and, though not naming Mr Miller, gave a description which fitted his profile – right down to the aftershave he wore.
But the 32-year-old has now been jailed for 32 months after her campaign caused a three-month ‘nightmare’ for Mr Miller, which he described in court as the ‘worst time of my life’.
She had previously admitted to perverting the course of justice.
Prosecutors explained how Weller, from Minster on the Isle of Sheppey in Kent, had started seeing a police officer after breaking up with prison officer Mr Miller.
Prosecutor Tanya Robinson told Maidstone Crown Court she consistently used ‘personal difficulties’ to ‘guilt’ partners into getting back with her.
These included faking pregnancies, miscarriages, abortions and deaths of family members.
Ms Robinson explained: ‘When each relationship faltered, she would use personal difficulties, whether true or not, to gain sympathy and guilt her partners back into a relationship with her.
‘To this end, it seems she claimed multiple pregnancies, miscarriages, abortion and even claimed her father was dead.’
