Manufacturer, Workers Settle Wage Case After Some Claims Axed - Bloomberg Law

SMC Corp. of America and workers who say it owes them overtime reached a deal to resolve their wage-and-hour fight after a federal judge rejected some state-law claims.

The pneumatic and electric automation equipment manufacturer agreed to pay nearly $200,000 to end the litigation, with most of the recovery going toward the workers’ attorneys’ fees, according to settlement documents filed in the US District Court for the Southern District of Indiana.

SMC didn’t admit any liability for the alleged Fair Labor Standards Act violations.
