Boston-based health system Mass General Brigham will settle a proposed class action claiming it shortchanges certain married retirees’ pensions by calculating their benefits using outdated life expectancy data, according to a First Circuit filing.
The parties reached an agreement at a judge-led settlement conference held July 15, they said in a joint status report filed the same day in the US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. The report didn’t include details about the settlement, and counsel for the parties didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.
