MCMC probes TikTok post over alleged false claims involving MACC, Azam Baki - The Star

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has opened an investigation paper against an individual suspected of uploading false content on TikTok involving the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and its Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Azam Baki.

In a statement on Tuesday (April 21), MCMC said the individual was called in to have their statement recorded to assist in the investigation.

"One communication device believed to have been used to upload the content has also been seized.

"The case is being investigated under Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998, which carries a maximum penalty of a RM500,000 fine, imprisonment of up to two years, or both, upon conviction," it said.
