The launch comes shortly after the MEA used its Fact Check handle on X to clarify a viral social media post that falsely attributed a statement to ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal regarding allegations of foreign funding linked to the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led protests.
The viral post claimed that Jaiswal had said there was no foreign funding behind the protests based on intelligence and investigation.
However, the MEA's Fact Check handle said the post was "misleading" and "misrepresents the statement of the Spokesperson."
The ministry shared Jaiswal's actual response from its biweekly media briefing, where he said:
"Regarding the point you raised about allegations of foreign funding and other such claims in connection with the ongoing protests, I would like to say that I do not have any information on this matter to share with you at this time."
The clarification was accompanied by a clip from the briefing.
According to the information shared, action has also been taken by authorities on the social media account that was fact-checked by the ministry following last week's protests.
