Michaels Stores Will Arbitrate Wage Case, 9th Cir. Rules (1) - Bloomberg Law

A federal appeals court in San Francisco refused to move a worker’s wage-and-hour lawsuit against Michaels Stores Inc. out of arbitration and back into court, despite the US Supreme Court’s decision last year limiting the rules lower courts may set for transferring lawsuits into arbitration.

The US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit ruled Monday that a federal judge was right to send former Michaels Stores employee Teresa Armstrong’s lawsuit to arbitration after the case was litigated in court for nearly a year.
