Republican lawmakers want clerks to examine how voters dot their i's and cross their t's when signing their names.

The suggestion is one of many changes offered Wednesday by GOP lawmakers opposed to proposed rules regarding absentee ballot applications, signature verification and other changes sought by the Michigan Department of State.
