Michigan Supreme Court revives Saginaw 911 dispatcher’s whistleblower lawsuit in fatal shooting case - MLive.com

LANSING, MI — Bleeding from five gunshot wounds, a Saginaw woman began pounding on the door of a West Side house seeking help in the summer of 2021. Though someone called 911, it would take more than an hour for emergency personnel to arrive, by which time there was no saving the 23-year-old woman, N’ala J. Wallace.

A Saginaw County Central Dispatch employee filed a lawsuit against his employer, alleging the entity’s gross negligence contributed to Wallace’s death and that he was “constructively discharged” for pointing this out. The suit was dismissed by a local judge, but the Michigan Supreme Court has ruled the suit has merit and should continue.
