MILWAUKEE —
A Milwaukee immigrant claims the Trump administration owes him and his family $5.5 million for falsely accusing him of threatening to assassinate the president.
Attorneys for Ramon Morales Reyes filed a legal claim with the Department of Homeland Security and Immigration and Customs Enforcement over their social media posts and statements in 2025.
Those posts came after another man, Demetric Scott, posed as Morales-Reyes in a letter threatening President Trump.
The attorneys' claim alleges DHS added a disclaimer to its online press release but has not fully retracted its statements or removed the posts.
WISN 12 News has reached out to DHS for comment but have not heard back.
