The CAO says the names and identities of the dead are being verified and listed

The Chief Advisor's Office (CAO) has rejected claims circulating on social media that authorities are concealing the number of casualties in the aircraft crash at Milestone School and College in Dhaka’s Uttara, calling them "misinformation".

In a statement on Tuesday, the CAO said the government is providing full support for every victim of Monday's disaster. The names and identities of the dead are being verified and listed. Bodies that cannot be immediately identified are being matched through DNA testing.

Authorities are also striving to ensure the best possible medical care for those injured and are currently being treated in hospitals across Dhaka, it added.

“We are watching with concern that certain quarters are spreading misinformation claiming that the casualty figures are being concealed. We want to state very clearly that this claim is false.”

It added that the government, military authorities, school management, and hospital officials are working jointly to publish a complete and accurate list of the dead and injured.

The CAO urged citizens to contact the school authorities immediately if anyone they know is still missing, adding a control room is being set up on the campus.

Records from the school’s registry and other documents are being verified to determine if anyone is still unaccounted for, it added.
