This interview will be on “St. Louis on the Air” over the noon hour Monday. This story will be updated after the show. You can listen live.
Missouri Attorney General Eric Schmitt filed suit against no fewer than 45 school districts across the state in recent weeks, charging that their mask mandates are illegal. Most, if not all, of the districts have continued to enforce the mandates, saying a recent spike in COVID-19 cases has left them few options.
On Monday’s St. Louis on the Air, our Legal Roundtable will dig into the law on these mandates, including a recent appeals court ruling from the 8th circuit in St. Louis. We’ll also discuss many other legal matters in the news lately, including the controversy over a judge’s emphatic reaction to an attorney’s Facebook “like” in Quincy, Illinois, and what the Missouri Supreme Court says about your right to confront your accuser when they’re joining court via Zoom.
Joining the discussion will be Brenda Talent, an attorney and CEO of the Show Me Institute; Bill Freivogel, an attorney and professor of journalism at Southern Illinois University Carbondale; and Sarah Swatosh, a partner at Sedey Harper Westhoff PC who specializes in employment law.
