'Monstrous lie': PM issues preaction protocol letter to whistleblower ... - Loop News Trinidad & Tobago

Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley has taken legal action against alleged whistleblower Akil Abdullah who claimed he was offered money to discredit the Tobago House of Assembly (THA).

He made the disclosure while speaking during an interview on TV6 on Thursday morning.

Dr Rowley revealed he issued a preaction protocol letter to the alleged whistleblower "who has participated in the creation of this monstrous lie implicating me in serious criminal conduct."

He said: "I will take my cue from what the law permits and that is why I’m going to sue the person who lied on me."

At a news conference last Thursday, Dr Rowley accused THA Chief Secretary Farley Augustine of using the cover of the Assembly to engage in witness tampering and attempting to pervert the course of justice.

He said he instructed Attorney General Reginald Armour to obtain legal advice on the matter.
