KILMARNOCK and Loudoun MP Lillian Jones has welcomed a package of new employment rights coming into force.

The Labour MP has described them as “a decisive step towards fairness, dignity and security at work for millions of people across the UK".

The Labour Government introduced reforms designed to strengthen worker protections, tackle exploitation, and modernise employment law.

Lillian Jones MP said: “These reforms mark a turning point for working people. For too long, many workers have faced insecurity, low pay, and weak protections.

"This Labour Government is delivering on its promise to make work pay and to ensure dignity, fairness, and respect in every workplace.

"The creation of the fair work agency and the introduction of day-one rights will make a real difference to families across our community. I am proud to support these changes and will continue to stand up for workers’ rights.
