Myung Tae-kyun Challenges Shin Yong-han: Sue Me for Defamation - 조선일보

Myung Tae-kyun on the 26th told Democratic Party of Korea’s North Chungcheong Governor candidate Shin Yong-han, “If you feel wronged, sue me for defamation.” Myung stated, “Shin claimed we should wait and see which is true between my exaggerations and his materials, but he presented no evidence during his rebuttal press conference.”

Myung held a press conference at the North Chungcheong Provincial Government briefing room that morning, asserting, “Shin is mocking North Chungcheong residents with false claims as a gubernatorial candidate.” He asked, “Where is the evidence that I manipulated state affairs and public opinion?” adding, “I have undergone over 10 search and seizure operations by prosecutors and still stand here today.”

He raised his voice, saying, “Despite being acquitted of political funds law violations in the first trial last month, Shin continues to frame me maliciously.” Myung also criticized Shin’s label of “public interest whistleblower” and vowed legal action.

He declared, “I will prove Shin’s false claims and become the ‘North Chungcheong Province’s first public interest whistleblower,’” adding, “I will expose his hypocrisy of hiding behind the ‘whistleblower’ mask to fulfill political ambitions.”
