Narayanasamy making false claims of dispute between Puducherry L-G and CM: Home Minister - The Hindu

Accusing former Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy of giving false statements about differences of opinion between Lieutenant Governor K. Kailashnathan and Chief Minister N. Rangasamy on administrative matters, Home Minister A. Namassivayam said the Congress leader was trying to mislead the people of the Union Territory (UT), as he was not able to “digest” the smooth functioning of the AINRC-BJP government.

Speaking to reporters after attending a Tiranga Victory Rally, organised by Pondicherry University on its campus on Saturday (May 17, 2025), the Home Minister said the former Chief Minister was always in the “habit of making false claims and untrue statements.”

After the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government came to power in the UT under the leadership of Mr. Rangasamy, several schemes that were stalled during the tenure of Mr. Narayanasamy were relaunched, and new schemes initiated. The AINRC-BJP government was able to reopen ration shops and launch several welfare schemes announced in the Assembly, he said.

“He cannot digest the performance of the government in initiating welfare schemes. If there were differences of opinion between the Lt. Governor and Chief Minister, the administration could not have executed so many schemes. The implementation of the schemes has created a good name for the government and because of that, Mr. Narayanasamy is worried, and he wants to confuse the voters,” he said.
