NATO's Doubts on Israel's Claims Highlight Skepticism of 'False Flag' Narratives: Iranian Spokesman - تسنیم

TEHRAN (Tasnim) - Spokesperson for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Esmaeil Baqaei referred to NATO secretary-general’s refusal to endorse Israel's assertion regarding alleged Iranian missile threats aimed at Diego Garcia as a sign of global boredom with discredited “false flag” storylines.

Al Jazeera announced on March 22, “NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte says the alliance ‘cannot confirm’ Israel’s claim that missiles targeting Diego Garcia were Iranian intercontinental ballistic missiles.”

Citing that assertion, Baqaei sent a message on his X account on March 23, saying, “That even the NATO Secretary General (who is infamously pressing Alliance members to appease the US and support their illegal war on Iran) declines to endorse Israel's most recent disinformation, speaks volumes: the world has grown thoroughly exhausted with these tired and discredited ‘false flag’ storylines.”

The US and the Israeli regime launched a large-scale unprovoked military campaign against Iran following the assassination of Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei, along with several senior military commanders and civilians on February 28.

The attacks have involved extensive aerial strikes on both military and civilian locations across Iran, causing significant casualties and widespread damage to infrastructure.
