NC said Thursday it has filed a criminal complaint against the operator of the YouTube channel "Yeonglaegi" on charges of spreading false information and obstructing business operations related to its flagship intellectual property, the online game "Lineage Classic."
In the complaint submitted to the Gangnam Police Station, NC said, "Yeonglaegi broadcast through YouTube that Lineage Classic tolerated illegal program users and groundlessly sanctioned users who reported illegal programs." The company added, "These claims have been confirmed as clearly false based on internal data analysis and reviews by both in-house and external experts."
NC explained the background for its legal action, stating, "False information spread rapidly to an unspecified number of people, causing significant confusion among Lineage Classic users." The company added, "It also negatively affected the service credibility and overall operations of NC, which has been focused on eradicating illegal programs."
NC emphasized, "Lineage Classic has been continuously working to create a smooth and stable playing environment." The company noted, "Since launch, we have actively responded by sanctioning a total of 5,971,757 accounts across 105 rounds of enforcement."
Earlier in February, Yeonglaegi posted a video titled "Why Macro Bot Farms Won't Disappear from Lineage Classic," arguing that crackdowns on illegal program users were not being properly carried out.
