NCSoft has initiated legal action against a YouTuber accused of spreading false information regarding its game *Aion 2*.
NCSoft announced on the 17th that it filed a criminal complaint with the Seoul Gangnam Police Station against the operator of the YouTube channel "Gamchanghyeon" for alleged dissemination of false information. Additionally, the company filed a civil lawsuit at the Seoul Central District Court seeking damages for defamation, insult, and business obstruction.
NCSoft stated that "Gamchanghyeon" had persistently and repeatedly posted videos containing false claims about *Aion 2*. The YouTuber alleged, "NCSoft only sanctions non-paying users," "They are selling macros bundled with the game," and "An NCSoft executive is the owner of a macro workshop." The company described these statements as false or defamatory.
NCSoft has taken a firm stance against controversies surrounding *Aion 2*. In December last year, it filed criminal complaints against five illegal macro users for business obstruction and is preparing a second round of lawsuits. By the 16th, the company blocked 855,000 related accounts. Escalating to legal action—rather than mere account suspensions or operational restrictions—is an unusual response in the industry.
NCSoft emphasized, "We will continue our efforts to protect game users and intellectual property (IP).
