NC said on the 7th that it filed a complaint with the Gangnam Police Station in Seoul against the operator of the YouTube channel "Yeongraeggi" on charges including spreading false information and obstruction of business.
According to NC, the YouTuber "Yeongraeggi," who has 290,000 subscribers, recently broadcast that NC's "Lineage Classic" was leaving users of illegal programs unchecked and sanctioning users who reported illegal programs without grounds. Yeongraeggi also claimed that legitimate users who reported illegal programs were sanctioned and isolated so they could not access the game.
NC said, "Internal data analysis and reviews by in-house and external experts confirmed that the claims are clearly false." It added that Yeongraeggi's spreading false information caused great confusion among Lineage Classic users and had a negative impact on NC's service credibility and overall operations.
It also noted that trust in the "illegal program reporting system" operated in Lineage Classic has declined and that user reports and participation in campaigns have weakened, harming overall game operations.
According to NC, Lineage Classic has run user-facing campaigns to eradicate abnormal play and respond to illegal programs since its launch. As a result, it sanctioned about 5.97 million accounts in a total of 105 rounds.
