Eric Farron, vice president of operations at the contractor, told CBC News that affected staff include:

  • 3 pipe fitters

Mike Meloche, business agent for UA Local 527, claimed some workers were told to return to the plant on July 2.

Impact on NextStar Employees

NextStar staff and operations aren’t affected by the decision.

“Change in works are a standard part of operations and reflect ongoing efforts to align project needs,” spokesperson Daniela Ferro said in a statement to CBC News.

“The company looks forward to the successful completion of the NextStar Energy site.”
