NewsGuard’s Reality Gap Index was 47 percent in November, inching one percent higher than October’s rate. Nearly half of Americans surveyed reported that they believe one of the top three false claims spreading online identified by NewsGuard. The claims this month involved President Donald Trump’s actions regarding the Jeffrey Epstein files, New York City Mayor-elect Zohran Mamdani’s minimum wage promises, and the accused assassin of conservative influencer Charlie Kirk.
