LINCOLN, Neb. (WOWT) - Nebraska Attorney General Mike Hilgers reached a settlement with an Omaha-area health care service after one of their contractors allegedly caused the provider to file false Medicaid claims.
In a statement sent Friday, Hilgers’ office said they reached a settlement with ECO Supportive Living after a care provider contracted to ECO billed Nebraska Medicaid for services the contractors did not render.
It was alleged that the contractors falsely claimed that they provided 796 hours for services for a client who was living with them when the client was at services with a different organization.
Hilgers’ office alleged that ECO filed 173 false claims and was paid nearly $29,000 for those claims.
According to the release, Hilgers and ECO settled the case for more than $83,000.
