Kathmandu. An agreement has been reached between the protesting Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs Association and the Ministry of Labour, Employment and Social Security on Monday. Following discussions between the Minister, Secretary, President, Advisor, and officials of the Nepal Foreign Employment Entrepreneurs Association, an agreement was reached to postpone the protest.
The association had been conducting attention-grabbing programs with 15-point demands since Shrawan 22 and had decided to stop sending workers to destination countries from Bhadra 1. In today's discussion, it was informed that most of the issues raised by the association in its 15-point demands are policy-related and are being included in the process of amending the Foreign Employment Act and Regulations.
An agreement has been reached for the Ministry and the Association to make maximum efforts to conclude the amendment process in a way that makes the field of foreign employment transparent, safe, and dignified as soon as possible. Regarding the overall demands, if the entrepreneurs request their issues to the Department of Foreign Employment with additional evidence and documents as per the law, the department will provide necessary administrative facilitation. If a solution is not found there, the discussion has concluded with the provision that they can appeal to the Ministry formally.
