WASHINGTON — Never-before-seen video shown during a House committee hearing purportedly shows what a congressman called "an orb" surviving a missile strike off the coast of Yemen.
Rep. Eric Burlison, R-Mo., said that the video from Oct. 30, 2024, was provided to him by a whistleblower.
The congressman publicly revealed the footage during a House Oversight Committee hearing on transparency and whistleblower protection related to unidentified anomalous phenomena, or UAPs — the government’s term for UFOs.
The hearing was the third since fiery testimony in July 2023, when a whistleblower claimed the U.S. is concealing a longstanding program that retrieves and reverse engineers unidentified flying objects. The Pentagon has denied the claims.
Burlison said the newly obtained 2024 footage shows a MQ-9 Reaper drone launching a hellfire missile at an object, which he described as "an orb," leading to a noticeable deflection and partial disintegration of the object.
The fragments were seen drifting along with it, a reaction that has added to the mystery of its nature.
