On Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York (SDNY) announced implementation of a new “Whistleblower Pilot Program.” The program, designed to encourage individuals to report crimes, sets forth considerations and circumstances that should entitle a person who has committed federal crimes to a non-prosecution or deferred prosecution agreement in cases involving corporate crime and bribery related to state or federal funds that occur within SDNY’s jurisdiction.
