Trump Threatens to Sue CNN, New York Times Over Iran Coverage

President Donald Trump is escalating his attacks on CNN and The New York Times, threatening to sue both outlets over reports that challenge the effectiveness of U.S. airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites. He criticized the coverage for allegedly minimizing the impact of the strikes and dismissing intelligence assessments.

On Wednesday, Trump urged CNN to fire a journalist involved in the story and described Times reporters as “bad and sick people,” accusing them of insulting American pilots who carried out the mission.

Trump’s outrage stems from media reports citing a preliminary Defense Intelligence Agency assessment, which concluded that the strikes had only delayed Iran’s nuclear program by a few months, contradicting Trump’s claim that the sites were “obliterated.”

In its own statement targeting CNN, the White House dismissed parts of the early Defense Intelligence Agency report as “an inconclusive, low-confidence intelligence assessment” and claimed it was leaked to discredit President Trump and the U.S. pilots involved in the operation.
