Newspaper's Feline Flea Feud Prompts Federal Whistleblower Suit - Bloomberg Law

An alleged newsroom infestation of fleas from a cat and other biting bugs, and the firing of the worker who complained about them, led OSHA to file a whistleblower lawsuit against the employer, the Killeen Daily Herald of Killeen, Texas.

The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration on Monday alleged that reporter Kristen Meriwether was dismissed from the newspaper 10 days after filing a complaint with OSHA on June 4, 2021, and discussing the bug bite problem several times with supervisors.
