NI Civil Service chief apologises to senior whistleblower vet hounded out of job - Belfast Telegraph

The head of the Northern Ireland Civil Service has issued an “unreserved apology” to a civil servant hounded out of her job because she blew the whistle on potential fraud and animal suffering and attempted to enforce the law.

On Thursday, the Belfast Telegraph revealed that the Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA) has abandoned its attempt to overturn a devastating industrial tribunal judgment that a senior vet in his department, Tamara Bronckaers, was effectively sacked — and was treated appallingly by one of Stormont’s most senior officials who remains in post.
